One Positive Action
Forgiveness Step
Carrying resentment is exhausting. Whether it's anger toward someone who hurt you or frustration with yourself for past mistakes, holding onto that weight takes up space in your mind and energy you could use elsewhere. Forgiveness doesn't mean what happened was okay or that you have to trust that person again. It means you're tired of letting old hurt control how you feel today.
Think about someone you've been carrying resentment toward. It might be a friend who let you down, a family member who said something hurtful, or even yourself for a decision you regret. You don't have to be ready to completely let it go, but maybe you're ready to loosen your grip on it just a little bit.
When you take even a small step toward forgiveness, you're choosing your own peace over staying stuck in old pain. It doesn't happen all at once, and it doesn't mean you're weak or naive. It means you're ready to stop giving that hurt so much power over your life. Sometimes the person who benefits most from your forgiveness is you.
Today, write down the name of someone you're ready to release some resentment toward. It could be someone else or it could be yourself. You don't have to feel completely ready or know exactly how to do it. Just writing their name down is a small step toward letting go of something that's been weighing you down.
