One Positive Action
Walk It Out
Sometimes you feel stuck or wound up and can't quite shake it. A quick walk with some intentional breathing can change that. Even 10 minutes is all I need to feel refreshed.
Step outside and start walking at a comfortable pace. As you walk, pay attention to your breathing. Try to match your steps with your breath; maybe two steps for each inhale, two steps for each exhale. Don't worry about getting it perfect.
This works quickly because walking gets your blood moving while focusing on your breath brings more oxygen to your brain. Together, they help release tension and make you feel more alert. After just 10 minutes, you'll likely notice your mood has lifted and your head feels clearer.
Making this a regular practice brings even more benefits. Regular walking boosts your energy, improves sleep, and supports overall well-being.
Next time you're feeling off, try this: Go outside for a walk around the block or across a nearby field. Keep your phone in your pocket and skip the headphones. Just walk, breathe, and notice what's around you. When you return, check in with yourself. You'll probably feel different; more relaxed, more focused, maybe even lighter. Sometimes that's exactly what your day needs.
