This Week’s Healthy Recipe

Roasted Carrot & Ginger Soup to Warm Your Soul

Those cooler nights are quickly approaching. While many of us hate that summer is coming to a close, fall is one of my favorite seasons. Warm days and cooler nights—what’s not to love?

Along with this temperature shift, we also get blessed with pumpkin treats and lattes galore.

While the following recipe isn’t made with pumpkin, it definitely vibes with this whole theme. It’s cozy and yummy in all the right ways. Plus, it’s a super easy recipe to freeze and reheat when you need it.

So, how can we make this delicious carrot and ginger soup?

Daily Habits for Success

Work-Life Balance:

  • Set Boundaries! You NEED to set boundaries. These days more than ever it’s easy to fall into that trap of maybe just answering that one email, or responding to a text outside of your work hours. Waaaay back when Blackberries were THE business phone (yes, my back is sore, thanks for asking) I would catch myself responding to emails/working at all hours and on my weekends, it was a surefire recipe for burnout. These days, 5pm is my cutoff, if there’s something especially dire on a time restriction, I’ll take care of it, but more often than not, it really CAN wait for tomorrow. (Fun fact! In France, it’s illegal for the boss in a large company to email workers after hours.)

  • Schedule Downtime: Intentionally set aside some time and prioritize some relaxation or leisure time. Often your relaxation time is just slotted in at the end of the day ‘when every thing else is done’, which is great, but often at this time, that’s also when you’re just burnt out from everything else and ‘relax’ by staring at the tv. Instead, book some time for a hobby, paint a picture, walk in nature, take the time to do something actually constructive for you.
