Adulting Anxiety: 5 Effective Ways to Ease the Worry

When we were young, we couldn’t wait till we became adults so we could enjoy the freedom and access that comes with it. We looked forward to being able to do whatever we wanted without any limitations from anyone.

I mean, what’s not to like in a potential future where you can do anything you want and have the capacity to earn the needed funds to do so right?

But, as the reality of 'adulting' creeps in, we realize that it is an overwhelming transition.

Adulting: the practice of behaving in a way characteristic of a responsible adult, especially the accomplishment of mundane but necessary tasks. - Dictionary.com

One Positive Action

Today, Let’s Get Organized!

Choose one small space, preferably something you see every day. Your desk, a room corner, your computer desktop… you get the idea. Just keep it manageable.

Now, take a few minutes to clear it out. As you sort through your things, notice what’s unnecessary - papers you don’t need, files you forgot about, things you’ve been meaning to toss.

Once you’re done, take a step back and admire your work! A little organization, a little clarity, it might be small, but it’s a win!

How’d this little exercise make you feel? Was there a shift in your mindset? If you keep a journal, share your experiences, or if not, feel free to leave us a comment!

Sure it was a cheesy catchphrase from the 80’s but I think Randy was on to something with this. It’s not about instant success, it’s about steady progress. No matter your challenges, if you keep putting in the effort you’ll always come out on top. So if today feels tough, trust that your efforts will pay off. OOOOHHH YAAAA!
