Seasonal Self-Care: 6 Tips to Help You Thrive in Autumn

Autumn is my favorite season for a variety of reasons.

As the leaves begin to change and the air turns crisp, fall presents the perfect opportunity to turn over a new leaf and embark on or get back to a journey of self-improvement.

So, grab a cozy sweater and a pumpkin-spiced beverage, and let's dive into an adventure of self-discovery to help you really thrive in autumn!

Today’s Quote

I love the above quote, it’s so simple, but it’s so poignant. I’ve talked about struggling with my own inner dialogue on here before and just how easy it is to immediately blame yourself, or call yourself an idiot, or any number of other horrible names for any mistake, no matter how small.

If your best friend, or maybe your mom, or your kids made a mistake, even a little one, like spilling a glass of water, would you immediately tear into them on a diatribe and make them feel like they are worth any less?

Hopefully that’s a really easy to answer emphatic NO. So, if you wouldn’t talk that way to a loved one, why do we talk like that to ourselves in the secret parts of our minds? It’s never okay to tear ourselves down. Positive self talk is HARD, but it is so, so, so worth it. Give it a try. Whenever you notice yourself about to tear a strip off of yourself (or if it’s already started) take a breath, and forgive yourself. Tell yourself it’s okay. Burning dinner isn’t that big of a deal. That broken plate was old and chipped anyway, it’s fine. I’m fine.
