Why Life Isn't Always Fair: Understanding the Fallacy of Fairness
“It’s just not fair!”
If you’re like me, you’ve probably thought this from time to time.
Fairness is a concept that is deeply ingrained in our society. From childhood, we are taught that life should be fair and that everyone should be treated equally.
However, as we grow older, we begin to realize that life doesn't always work that way. Life isn’t always fair, and when we cling to the belief that it should be, we set ourselves up for disappointment and frustration.
By challenging this belief, we can learn to accept that life is not always fair, but we still have the power to create much of our own happiness and success. This journey helps us become stronger, more flexible, and more aware of who we are. It gives us chances to grow personally and feel better overall… Continue Reading
Using AI as an Empathy Coach: How to Use it to Actually Help
AI (Artificial Intelligence) has officially entered our homes. And the question continues to be: what are the implications that this will have on our daily life, mental health, relationships, and more?
Now, most healthy relationships will have their fair share of disagreements, and I would say my long-term relationship is no different. I’ve found AI to be a great tool for reflection after heated discussions or arguments, helping me gain greater insight into my partner’s thoughts and how we can align.
But…
And this is a big one…
I can also see how it can be used to continually fuel the same argument again and again. Ever notice how when you vent to AI (yes, I’m looking at you ChatGPT), it tends to be very agreeable?
For instance, if I were to list everything I thought my partner did wrong and why I’m upset in the chatbox, ChatGPT would quickly validate. It will tell me I’m right… Continue Reading

Sunday Reset
Sunday evenings have this weird energy as Monday creeps up on you. Instead of letting that anxiety just sit there, you can use those few minutes to set yourself up for a week that actually feels intentional. Most people dive into Monday morning without any real sense of what they want to accomplish, so they end up reacting to whatever gets thrown at them instead of working toward anything meaningful.
The key is picking just one priority for the week that connects to something bigger you're working toward. Maybe you've been wanting to get healthier, so your one priority is meal prepping on Wednesday, or you're trying to build a side project, so you commit to spending a few hours on it this week. It doesn't have to be huge, but it should be something that moves you forward instead of just keeping you busy.
When you take 15 minutes on Sunday to think about this, you're giving your week a backbone. Instead of floating through seven days of random tasks and obligations, you have something anchoring you to what actually matters to you. That one priority becomes a guide that helps you make better decisions about how to spend your time and energy. When other things come up, you can ask yourself whether they support your priority or distract from it.
This practice also helps you feel more in control of your time. Instead of getting to Friday and wondering where the week went, you can look back and see progress on something that matters to you. Even if everything else feels chaotic, you protected time for one thing that aligns with your bigger goals, and that's not nothing.
Spend 15 minutes this Sunday thinking about one priority for the upcoming week. Write it down somewhere you'll see it. Make sure it connects to something larger you're working toward, whether that's better health, stronger relationships, career growth, or a personal project. Let that one thing guide how you spend your week.
