The Last Quarter of the Year: 5 Ways of Making it Count

We are now in October, which means the final quarter of the year has begun!

Halloween is almost here, and most of us have already started working on those custom-made costumes.

Soon, Mariah will be blasting from every corner, the lights will be up, and the Christmas season will be here. The busy season will be upon us, and before we know it, the year will be over.

We will be writing down our goals for the new year. Time flies.

But we are here now, and this is the perfect time to start reflecting and looking back at how the year went.

Most of us do annual evaluations at work; why don't we do the same for our personal lives?

Your Weekend Reset

Ready for a weekly reset? Try a few of these tips to unwind, connect, or get creative. We’ve got you covered to make the most of your downtime!

  • Weekend Hike: Get out in nature! There’s nothing like spending a few hours outdoors to reset your mind and reconnect with the natural world around you. Trek through a forest, climb a hill for the panoramic views, or get down near the water, the fresh air will do wonders for your soul. Bring a friend to reconnect, or go solo for some more ‘you’ time!

  • At-Home Spa Session: Why not treat yourself to a luxurious at-home spa day this weekend? Light some candles, turn on relaxing music, and give yourself permission to indulge in a soothing bath - whatever makes you feel pampered and relaxed. Throw on a cozy robe afterward, and maybe even sneak in a little meditation or reading. It’s the perfect way to de-stress and recharge, turning your home into a sanctuary of calm.

  • Creative Journaling Session: Let’s tap into your creativity and try out a creative journaling session! Grab some colorful pens, markers, or even stickers, and let your thoughts flow onto the page. You can write about your week, sketch ideas, or create lists of goals and dreams. There are no rules—just let your imagination run wild, don’t worry about what you’re writing down, just let your mind open a conduit to the page. It might be a struggle to start, but once you get moving you’ll be amazed at how easy your subconscious mind flows through your pen. Journaling is not only a great way to express yourself, but it also helps clear your mind and spark inspiration. By the end of it, you’ll feel lighter and more in tune with your inner self!

  • Audiobook Recommendation: If you’re in need of some serious motivation, listen to Start with Why by Simon Sinek this weekend. This audiobook is an absolute game-changer for understanding the deeper purpose behind everything you do, both personally and professionally. Sinek’s message about finding your “why” will inspire you to lead with intention and stay true to your core values. Whether you’re at a crossroads or just looking to reinvigorate your goals, this is the audiobook to help you find that clarity and drive.
