15 Little Ways to Appear More Confident (Even If You’re Not)

Does it seem like those confident people you see just seem to become more confident as they go while the rest of us shrink further into our shells?

It's frustrating, but really, confidence isn't something you're born with or magically develop over years.

It's a skill you can fake until you make it.

Whether you're about to give a presentation, go on a date, or walk into a job interview with sweaty palms and a racing heart, there are proven tricks to make you look confident—even when your lizard brain is screaming at you to run.…

Lentil Shepherd’s Pie for a Calmer Mind & Happier Gut

Some days, a self-help book doesn’t quite cut it. But a warm, bubbling shepherd’s pie that smells like comfort and feels like a reset button for your nervous system just might!

This version swaps beef for lentils, turning a traditionally heavy dish into something that’s both soothing and smart for your mental health. Serve it on a chilly evening, or on a day when your brain feels like it needs a hug. With minimal effort, this one is so worth it.

So, how can you make this at home?

One Positive Action

The Confidence Experiment

Most people wait to feel confident before they act. They think once the doubt goes away, they’ll finally speak up, share the idea, or take the chance, but that’s not how confidence works. Confidence is built through action, not before.

Every time you do something you’re unsure about and it turns out okay, you teach yourself that you can handle it, giving your brain the proof it needs next time to be confident. This is how self-trust grows. You arrive at a place of self-trust by showing up even when you don’t have the confidence yet.

This week, try an experiment. Pick one small situation where you usually hold back and decide ahead of time how you’ll act as if you already believe in yourself. Give yourself permission to be confident despite your doubts. Keep it small, but make it real.

When you follow through, notice what actually happens. Chances are, nothing dramatic will, but you may feel a moment of relief and a flicker of self-respect. This is how confidence builds; one small piece of evidence at a time. Stop letting your self doubt lead you.

Choose one situation this week where you normally hesitate or overthink. Decide how you’ll act from belief instead of fear, then do it. Notice how different it feels to move first and let confidence catch up later.
