How to Stop Doomscrolling & Create Healthier Bookends for Your Day
How often do you pick up your phone without thinking and find yourself in the midst of scrolling yet another social app?
You can’t quite remember picking up your phone.
You aren’t sure even why you’re scrolling.
In fact, maybe you even have several other important tasks you could be doing.
There’s been so many times where I’ve found myself in the middle of the exact scenario above. Or I find myself lazily scrolling through apps as I lie in bed—when oftentimes, I should be probably going to sleep, or at the very least avoiding screens to wind down.
Then, there are the many days where my phone is the first thing I reach for. And before I know it, I’m about 30 minutes into my day but all I’ve managed to do is scroll mindlessly through Instagram, Reddit, or Facebook.
And here’s the annoying bit: We know we shouldn’t…
10 Core Personal Values That Shape Your Life (and How to Discover Yours)
When life is pulling you in ten different directions at once, it’s easy to get swept up in what other people expect, what society tells us to chase, or even just the day-to-day grind of paying bills and checking boxes.
But underneath all of that noise, there’s something steady… your personal values.
Think of values as your inner compass. They’re not goals that come and go, like “lose ten pounds” or “land that promotion.” They’re deeper than that. Values are the quiet beliefs and priorities that shape who you are and how you move through the world.
And when you know them - really know them - life gets a whole lot clearer.
Here’s the tricky part: most of us never stop long enough to ask, What actually matters to me? We assume we know, or we borrow answers from our parents, friends, or Instagram feeds. But the truth is, discovering your own core values can be one of the most freeing, eye-opening…
One Positive Action
Three Minute Ritual
We all hit those moments when everything feels like you're pushing against a wall. Your mind gets cloudy, your body tenses up, and the harder you try to push through, the more stuck you become. Most people try to force their way past these feelings, but that usually just makes the stuck feeling worse and last longer.
What actually helps is giving yourself permission to stop and reset. Your nervous system needs a signal that it's okay to let go of whatever tension or frustration has built up. When you're grinding through tasks in that state, your body is in stress mode. A short reset ritual can shift you out of that and back into a calmer, clearer space where things flow more easily.
The ritual itself can be simple. Maybe you close your eyes and take five deep breaths, or you stand up and stretch. The specific action matters less than doing the same thing consistently. When you repeat the same small ritual whenever you feel stuck, your body starts to recognize it as a reset button that actually works.
This practice breaks the cycle before stress really builds up. Instead of carrying that stuck feeling through the rest of your day, you create a clean break that lets new energy come in. Over time, you'll naturally turn to your reset when you need it, and those stuck moments become shorter and less intense.
Pick your three-minute reset ritual today and keep it simple enough that you can do it anywhere. The next time you notice yourself feeling stuck or tense, pause and use it. Give yourself those few minutes to reset, knowing that this small break can completely change how the rest of your day unfolds.
