Feeling Stuck in the Worry Loop? 4 Simple Practices to Break Free

Written by: Dominica

You know all about the worry loop.

You want to experience life with plenty of peace and joy, right? We all do.

But many people (and I mean large masses of society) experience more anxiety and worry than feelings of peace or joy.

According to Ipsos' What Worries the World survey of 20,000 adults in 29 countries, the five most common things people are worried about are:

  • crime and violence

  • inflation

  • poverty and social inequality

  • unemployment

  • financial/political corruption

Closer to home, with the ups and downs of the economic situation, housing and food costs (and shortages), multiple wars and extreme weather, it's no wonder we feel so worried.

So, what can we do about all this worry

One Positive Action

Choosing to Be Bold

There are moments when you know exactly what you want to say or do, but something holds you back. You weigh the outcome, consider how it might be received, and hesitate just long enough to stay where it feels safe. Over time, those small hesitations can turn into a pattern of holding yourself back.

Being bold doesn’t always mean making a dramatic move. It often shows up in quieter ways—speaking honestly, setting a boundary, sharing an idea, or taking a step you’ve been avoiding. It’s less about confidence and more about willingness. You act even if there’s uncertainty, because staying still no longer feels like the better option.

Each time you choose boldness, you build trust with yourself. You prove that you can handle discomfort and follow through on what matters to you. That kind of trust changes how you show up in every area of your life.

Choose one thing today that you’ve been holding back on and move toward it. Say the thing, take the step, or make the decision. Keep it simple, but make it intentional, and follow through without overthinking.
