Do You Like Yourself? Self-Esteem & How to Improve Yours

It’s not always easy to feel good about yourself.

Most of us can relate to struggling with self-esteem issues every now and then.

However, the way you feel about yourself is something you can learn to change for the better.

What is Self-Esteem?

Self-esteem is simply the way you feel about yourself.

The Healing Power of Chicken Bone Broth

Our grandparents were right about chicken soup all along.

That aromatic pot simmering on the stove isn’t just comfort food - it’s quite literally liquid gold for your health. And yes, you may have heard about bone broth making the rounds of social media.

But this isn’t just a fad or trend - there’s some serious truth behind why this is a great food to incorporate into your diet.

Bone broth has been around for centuries.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it was used to support digestion, kidney health, and strengthen the body’s vital energy. The ancient Greeks, following the teachings of Hippocrates, recommended broths to promote gut health and aid in the healing of injuries…

One Positive Action

Replace Self-Criticism with Self-Compassion:

We all have that voice inside our heads, the one that tells us we're not enough, that we're failing, or that we could be doing better. That inner critic can be loud, persistent, and unforgiving. We don’t have to listen to it. In fact, we can choose to replace it with something much more powerful: self-compassion. Speaking kindly to ourselves is more than simply "feeling good." It’s acknowledging our imperfections, treating ourselves with kindness, and choosing to show up for ourselves with the same empathy we would for a dear friend.

When we practice self-compassion, we begin to change the way we see ourselves. Our inner dialogue becomes more supportive, and over time, it fosters a greater sense of self-worth and confidence. Negative self-talk often leaves us feeling anxious, isolated, and defeated. But when we choose to speak kindly to ourselves, we start to cultivate a sense of belonging and self-acceptance.

Changing the way we speak to ourselves doesn’t happen overnight. It requires awareness and intentionality. The next time you catch yourself thinking, “I’m not good enough” or “I messed up again,” pause. Notice it. And then replace that thought with something that acknowledges your effort, your resilience, or your growth. Maybe it’s as simple as, “I’m doing the best I can,” or “I am worthy of love and compassion.”

Today, take a moment to catch a negative thought you have about yourself. When you do, replace it with something kinder. Write down that positive affirmation and say it out loud. Let it sink in. With each act of self-compassion, you're reinforcing your worth and shifting your narrative to one of kindness and acceptance. This practice may feel awkward at first, but over time, it will help you embrace the beautiful, imperfect person you are.
