Positively Uplifting Stories | May 5 2025

When we build connections on a foundation of trust and empathy, we can elevate humanity. Your efforts towards the greater good, no matter how insignificant they may seem, can make a big difference.

A tiny spark of inspiration can start a movement! Moments of authentic connection can bloom in places you'd never imagine.

“There are two types of people who will tell you that you cannot make a difference in this world: those who are afraid to try and those who are afraid you will succeed.” - Ray Goforth

We hope that the following stories will ignite your passion to lead with authenticity and take purposeful action…

One Positive Action

Unplug to recharge:

We all know how easy it is to keep our phones close, or veg out in front of the tv. But what happens when we make space to simply step away from our screens? Trying an evening digital detox, setting aside a specific time, like one hour before bed, to stop using technology, helps create a boundary between the busy day and restful night.

Screens can make it harder to relax, especially at night. The blue light from our devices disrupts our sleep cycle, and the constant influx of information keeps us mentally engaged long after the day is over. It’s a simple way to support our mental and physical well-being by allowing ourselves to wind down naturally before sleep. Even better if you can sit outside and watch the sun set, the natural darkening light helps set your circadian rhythm.

Taking an hour to be without screens before bed opens up space for reflection. In that time, you might choose to read, journal, or simply sit with your thoughts. This is an opportunity to check in with yourself and unwind without distractions. You can create a quiet moment where you can tune into what you’re feeling and thinking, instead of being pulled in a thousand different directions. When we give ourselves this time, we can move from the energy of the day into a more peaceful state.

Tonight, give it a shot. turn off your phone, your tv, your computer an hour before bed. Use it as a chance to focus on something else, like reading, meditating, or reflecting on your day. See how this small change affects your ability to relax and the quality of your rest. Notice the difference it makes when you allow yourself to disconnect and let your mind find stillness before sleep.
