Digital Decluttering De-Stress: 5 Helpful Steps To Get Organized
In so many ways, technology has improved our lives and increasingly, we default to using it more in multiple areas of our lives.
Simultaneously, it's also taken a lot of our time and massively reduced the interaction we have in person with other people. Also, most of us spend a big portion of our day in front of screens. The result - digital clutter.
In a world where we use multiple devices, apps, and online services, digital clutter can quickly accumulate, leading to…
This Week’s Uplifting Stories
Positively Uplifting Stories | May 19 2025
All it takes is a small act of compassion to inspire positive change and spark conversations around empathy.
No matter where we come from, we all wish to be seen, understood, and respected. There can be differences in outlook towards life, but we must always choose empathy.
Slow down, pause, and prioritize actually authentic connections with those around you.
"We are all different. Don’t judge, understand instead," - Roy T. Bennett
One Positive Action
Organize Your To-Do List:
It’s the beginning of the week, so why not hit the ground running and get your to-do list sorted. I know we all have full plates, so why not take some time to organize what you need to do. Rather than committing to every little energy draining task, why not scan your list and ask “What do I really need to do? What can I drop entirely?” Don’t be afraid to cross off tasks that don’t serve your goals or aren’t actually that urgent. Doing less, but doing it better, is the key to staying productive without feeling burned out.
Now that you have your most important tasks sorted, break down the larger tasks into smaller, actionable steps. Don’t get bogged down by what seems like a single insurmountable task, instead, focus on the next logical step and take action. As much as possible, try to automate or delegate tasks that aren’t a good use of your time. For example, an app like Todoist can sync from your phone and PC (and it’s free!) is a great way to keep your tasks organized and manageable.
Now, here’s the part where most people get stuck: prioritizing. Instead of staring at a long list, categorize your tasks into three columns: must-do today, can wait, and delegate. By forcing yourself to choose what really needs your attention, you’ll make better decisions about where to direct your very limited energy.
So, now that you’ve got a few tips on how to dismantle a bloated to-do list, take just 10 minutes to go through and be ruthless and eliminate anything that isn’t really that necessary. (the kids can find their own way home from school, right?). Celebrate each task that you’ve decided isn’t worth your energy, or every little job that can be delegated away.
