Why Your Gut Feeling Is Often Right (And When It Isn’t)

Written by: Dominica

Sometimes your body reacts before your thoughts even form a sentence.

  • You meet someone who seems perfectly kind, yet something in you stays guarded.

  • You sit with an opportunity you thought you wanted, but instead of excitement, there’s an odd heaviness you can’t quite place.

Nothing dramatic is happening, no obvious red flags, no proof sitting in front of you; just a quiet internal signal that refuses to disappear. It can feel almost irritating, honestly, because there is nothing concrete to point at, and still your mind keeps circling back to that feeling…

5 Self-Care Tips You Should Always Have in Your Back Pocket

Written by: Tatenda

What pops up in your mind when you hear the term 'self-care?'

Do elaborate visions of decadent massages and trips to the mountains in a faux fur parka come to mind? (I mean, that does sound wonderful.)

Self-care doesn't have to be extravagant, or even take that much time. It's really just a blanket term for the steps we practice to take care of ourselves.

One thing to keep in mind about self-care is the fact that it's ongoing and constant, meaning we never get to a point where we think that we've done enough and we don’t have to do more. There's always something going on.

From remembering your worth, to focusing your attention on one thing at a time to committing to not hitting snooze a dozen times before you get up (I do this too), these five self-care tips are ones you should always keep close

One Positive Action

Step Out of Your Shell

It’s easy to stay where you feel comfortable. Keeping to yourself, holding back, or avoiding situations that make you uncomfortable will always feel like the safest choice. It feels safer, but it can also keep you from experiences and connections you actually want.

Stepping out of your shell doesn’t mean changing who you are, but rather, allowing a little more of yourself to be seen. A small comment, a shared opinion, or showing up in a space you’d normally avoid can shift how you experience the moment.

Each time you do this, you build confidence. You realize you can handle being seen, heard, and involved without losing yourself. That’s where growth happens: just outside of what feels familiar.

Do one small thing today that you would normally hold back from. Speak up, introduce yourself, or share a thought. Keep it simple, but let yourself be a little more visible than usual.
