Use These 10 Breathing Techniques to Beat Stress & More!

Stress is an all-too-real daily issue for many of us, so much so that some have even debated whether stress should be considered a health epidemic. And with technology, there’s no doubt that we probably are more stressed than ever before.

Think about it: At what other time in history have we had so much information and so much connection at our fingertips? Well, as far as we know, never.

And here’s the thing: A little bit of stress can be a good thing. It can help us adapt, get stronger, and become more resilient. But too much, and our mental and physical health both take a serious hit…

Breaking the Procrastination Cycle: The Power of Small Actions

We’ve all been there - staring at a task we know we need to do, but somehow, we just can’t bring ourselves to start.

Instead, we scroll through social media, clean the kitchen, or convince ourselves we’ll feel more "ready" later. But later comes, and the cycle repeats.

Procrastination isn’t just about being lazy or undisciplined. More often than not, it’s an emotional response—our brain’s way of avoiding discomfort.

Interestingly, research shows that we don’t procrastinate because we’re bad at managing time; we do it because we’re trying to manage our mood…

Your Weekend Reset

Ready for a weekly reset? Try a few of these tips to unwind, connect, or get creative. We’ve got you covered to make the most of your downtime!

  • Drive Out of the City for a Stargazing Night: The stars are always there, but most of us don’t get to really see them. Find a spot away from city lights, bring a blanket, (or several, and a propane heater depending where you live…), and just look up. Bonus points if you bring a telescope, but even without one, it’s humbling to sit under a sky full of possibilities.

  • Spring Renewal Treasure Hunt: Make a list of signs of spring: (or fall for our southern hemisphere brethren) first flowers blooming, birds building nests, a fresh scent in the air, and go on a walk to spot them. This isn’t just about what’s around you, but also about noticing what’s coming alive in you as the seasons shift.

  • Declutter & Donate Challenge: Instead of just “tidying up,” look at your space like you’re curating a new chapter of your life. What actually serves you? What’s just stuff? Bag up what no longer fits, physically or mentally, (or sparks joy, shout out to Marie Kondo!) and pass it on to someone who needs it, whether it’s family, friends, or a local shelter.

  • Book Recommendation: Stillness is the key by Ryan Holiday - A book about mastering the art of clarity, focus, and inner peace in a world that constantly pulls us in a thousand directions. Train your mind to be calm under pressure, cut through distractions, and to make better decisions from a place of deep awareness. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, reactive, or just mentally exhausted, this book will help you reclaim your time, energy, and sense of control.
