Build a Life You Love: 7 No-BS Steps to Let Go of Old Pain
Dragging around old pain is exhausting.
You can pretend you’ve “moved on.” You can tell yourself you’re too busy to deal with it.
But what you don’t release, you end up carrying. And that baggage? It shows up everywhere…
in your relationships
your self-worth
your ability to trust
in your body
I get it. Letting go of old wounds isn’t some tidy little process. It’s messy. It’s uncomfortable. And sometimes, it downright hurts before it heals. But if you want a life that actually feels good - one where you’re not living from old scripts or stuck in patterns that no longer…
6 Surprising Benefits of Overcoming Doubt & Trying New Things
Rooted deeply in each of us is uncertainty. Human beings are creatures of habit.
We want to find the TV remote where we left it (where it has always been), to be guaranteed the paycheck comes in next month (as it always does). We want to be sure we don’t die (from eating that new soup).
Humans love novelty, but we don’t like the change that brings it – it scares us to no end.
So, we adopt routines and rituals, whilst avoiding risk and probabilities…
One Positive Action
“Should vs. Want”
Each day, we make dozens of small choices like what to say yes to, where to spend our energy, how to show up in the world. Many of these decisions are shaped by invisible pressures: what we think we should do, who we think we should be. Underneath all the “shoulds,” there's an honest truth: what we want.
The next time you catch yourself doing something out of duty or expectation, ask yourself: Am I doing this because I want to, or because I think I should? That question alone can spark a deeper connection to your values, your needs, and your freedom to choose.
When you start to notice your “shoulds,” you reclaim power over your time and energy. You begin to recognize when you’re acting out of fear, guilt, or people-pleasing rather than alignment. You can make the choice to take action over what you want, and not what you think you should do.
Try to find one moment where you’re acting from obligation and experiment with what would happen if you honored your want instead. Maybe it’s taking a break instead of powering through, setting a boundary, or saying no with grace. You are allowed to lead your life from desire, not just duty.
