Are You Introspective? 3 Important Questions to Ask Yourself

Most of us crave personal improvement, and we do the best we can to achieve that.

We read books, consume material, and spend time with people who help us become the best version of ourselves and lead more fulfilling lives.

As we do so, at some point we have to stop and look back to see how far we have come.

We have to see if we are making progress. This way, we know whether to continue doing what we are doing or to try something new. Moreover, we also have to think of what we want to achieve and how we can achieve it.

Is It Your Intuition or Your Trauma Talking? 4 Ways to Tell

You know that sudden feeling in your gut - that tight squeeze or gentle tug that says something's up?

Maybe it whispers quietly, nudging you toward or away from something, or perhaps it screams at you to sprint full-speed in the opposite direction.

But how do you know if that voice is truly your intuition or just your trauma talking?

It’s easy to mix them up. Both intuition and trauma responses feel remarkably convincing, almost urgent.

Yet, confusing the two can lead you down some pretty tangled paths, into unnecessary stress, strained relationships, or missed opportunities. But don’t worry, you’re not alone.

One Positive Action

5 Minute Morning Pages

Do you ever feel like your mind is already racing the second you wake up? You might be immediately thinking about the tasks of your day, wondering if you remembered to pay that bill, or replaying something awkward you said over the weekend. Five minute morning pages are meant to take mental noise and dump it onto paper so you can think clearly.

Before checking your phone or talking to anyone, spend five minutes first thing in the morning writing whatever comes to mind in a journal. Don't edit, don't consider grammar or spelling, just let your thoughts flow onto paper. This clears mental clutter and often reveals insights about what's really on your mind or what you need today.

Once you start doing this regularly, you'll notice patterns about what your initial inner thoughts are at the beginning of your day. Maybe you keep writing about wanting to try an art class, or you realize you're always stressed about the same thing.

It's like your subconscious is trying to tell you something, but it can only get through when you're not distracted by everything else. Use this exercise as if you were cleaning out a messy closet, but for your brain. You’ll start your day with more clarity and gain self-awareness.
