Is It Your Intuition or Your Trauma Talking? 4 Ways to Tell
You know that sudden feeling in your gut, that tight squeeze or gentle tug that says something's up?
Maybe it whispers quietly, nudging you toward or away from something, or perhaps it screams at you to sprint full-speed in the opposite direction.
But how do you know if that voice is truly your intuition or just your trauma talking?
It’s easy to mix them up. Both intuition and trauma responses feel remarkably convincing, almost urgent.
Yet, confusing the two can lead you down some pretty tangled paths, into unnecessary stress, strained relationships, or missed opportunities. But don’t worry, you’re not alone.
5 Ways to Improve Your Cognitive Flexibility & Why it Matters
Picture this: It's a chilly Monday morning, and I'm curled up with my laptop, staring at a blank screen.
The week ahead looms dauntingly, filled with deadlines, responsibilities, and a to-do list that seems to stretch to infinity.
Sound familiar?
We've all been there, wrestling with that relentless foe called procrastination and desperately seeking that elusive spark to ignite our motivation.
But here's the thing, I've learned that motivation isn't just a fleeting burst of energy or a stroke of luck.
It's a skill, a mindset, and a force that can be cultivated and nurtured over time. And trust me, if there's one thing I've discovered on my own journey, it's that tapping into that wellspring of motivation can transform not only our productivity, but also our entire outlook on life…
Your Weekend Reset
Ready for a weekly reset? Try a few of these tips to unwind, connect, or get creative. We’ve got you covered to make the most of your downtime!
Practice the Pause: Every time you feel the urge to pick up your phone, pause for ten seconds first. Don't force yourself not to use it, just pause and ask yourself: What am I looking for? What do I need right now? Consider this exercise like a digital detox. Sometimes you'll still pick up the phone, but sometimes you'll realize you actually wanted water, or fresh air, or just a moment of quiet.
Create a Gratitude Photo Walk: Take your phone or camera on a 30-minute walk around your neighborhood, with the goal of taking pictures of things that spark gratitude. Maybe it's the way morning light hits your community garden, a book someone left on a little free library, or seeing a cute dog that brought you joy. End by creating a small digital album of your gratitude discoveries.
Create a Sensory Reset Ritual: Design a 15-minute experience that engages all five senses intentionally: light a candle you love (smell), play music by your favorite artist (hearing), eat something delicious (taste), touch something that makes you feel calm like a soft blanket or pet (touch), and look at something beautiful (sight). Use this as your personal reset button when life feels overwhelming or disconnected.
