Making New Year's Resolutions This Year? 4 Things to Help You See Them Through

What a year 2024 was!

It was unlike any other we’ve all seen, that’s for sure.

I don’t know about you, but I’ll be glad to put some things about 2024 in my rearview mirror. I’m believing in a much better 2025 on all levels, as I’m sure you are too.

With the New Year here, most people start writing down or at least thinking about New Year resolutions. In fact, many people come up with a whole list of New Year’s resolutions and have great intentions of following through with them.

Some of the most common resolutions include:

Turkey, Cranberry and Brie Panini: A Festive Mood Boost

Are you wondering what to do with those holiday leftovers? Or maybe you’re just getting into the festive season. Well, this recipe covers both fronts. Plus, it’s super easy!

It basically takes the classic grilled cheese up a notch. And if you love a turkey dinner with cranberry sauce, you’re going to love this one. On top of the incredibly festive taste of this sandwich, it also has plenty of mental health benefits, helping boost your mood this holiday season. So, let’s take a closer look…

One Positive Action

“Write a Future Letter”

It’s January 1st, so let’s lean into that fresh start energy and try something that might actually stick. Write a letter to yourself that you can read a year from now. Not a big “New Year, New You” manifesto, just an honest note about where you’re at right now and what you hope to see by the time the next January rolls around.

What do you want to accomplish this year? Who do you want to be when you open this letter? What habits do you hope will stick? You might feel a little vulnerable taking a truly honest look at where you are and decide where you want to be, but do try to be as honest as you can. Be messy and real, it’s for your eyes only.

You’re not just checking boxes or setting lofty goals. (I mean, you’re probably not going to make a million dollars this year, but if you do, respect.) You’re capturing a moment in time; who you are right now and who you hope to grow into. You’re giving yourself permission to dream, to reflect, and to hope.

When you’re done, fold it up and stash it somewhere you won’t lose it, and when you read it a year from now, it won’t just be about what you’ve achieved, it’ll be a reminder of the person you were and how far you’ve come. Even if things didn’t go as planned, you’ll see the courage it took to put pen to paper and believe in something better. And that, on its own, is worth celebrating.

And who knows? Future You might have a few surprises up their sleeve.
