Why Self Growth Needs a Little More Patience and Kindness

It is the information age.

The only problem is the information everyone seems to get these days is that every other person is living a 'better' life than they are.

  • They see the news about the kid who made millions posting funny videos on social media

  • A business woman who bought herself a brand-new Lamborghini

  • People traveling all over the world, eating the best food, etc.

It never ceases.

A hyper-optimized flood of information makes us see the extremes of everything. They make everything (including trivial matters) seem like a life or death situation – mounting pressure on us

This Week’s Uplifting Stories

Positively Uplifting Stories | February 23 2026

Acts of kindness benefit us just as much as they benefit others. Even the simplest act of giving can make us happier, help us heal, and make our lives feel richer.

Every day, we have opportunities to make a positive difference in small but meaningful ways.

By prioritizing our human connections and empathy, we nurture our own well-being while also contributing to a more compassionate, connected community.

“In separateness lies the world’s greatest misery; in compassion lies the world’s true strength.” — Buddha

Let’s explore a few stories that illustrate the healing power of kindness.

  • A firefighter adopts the puppies he rescued from a house fire

  • A teen cashier steps up to help an elderly woman

  • An eleven-year-old ice skater skates for a greater cause

  • A man helps the community by clearing roads after extreme weather

One Positive Action

Relationship Legacy

Imagine your family relationships five years from now. What do you want your relationships to feel like? It's a great question to ask ourselves: are our current actions truly building the future we desire?

We often navigate life in the same patterns we always have, instead of with true thought or intention. It’s easy to feel surprised when our relationships don’t quite match our hopes. The wonderful news is that the gap between your desired and current relationships can be filled by your present choices.

Here’s a good way to approach this: start reverse-engineering your legacy. Start with the specific relationship you want and work backward. Then, ask yourself, "What specific behavior of mine makes that possible?" Once you define that behavior, commit to it consistently. Keep showing up and don't wait for others to change; be the one to go first. This is how you build an incredible legacy: through intentional, repeated acts of love that gently rewrite the patterns.

Dedicate just 30 minutes to reflect on one key relationship. Picture how you want it to feel emotionally five years from now. Then, pick one specific behavior you can start practicing to build that version of the relationship, and commit to it for one month.
