Feeling Empowered: 3 Powerful Practices to Get You Off the Sidelines
If you know anything about team sports, most athletes don’t really care for sitting the bench.
In fact, they tend to work super hard at practice, honing their skills because they want to be in the game giving it all they have. They want to be an asset on the team. It’s not that sitting on the sidelines is a bad thing. Everyone sits out at times.
However, most athletes try extra hard on and off the field or court so that they can have plenty of playing time.
Life is like a sport for everyone - but not everyone is really playing in the game.
What about you?
Are you sitting on the sidelines watching others live life passionately with purpose, dreams, and goals?
Are you allowing your past or negative feelings to hold you back or make you miserable?

One Positive Action
Trust in the Unexpected
There are seasons when everything you planned doesn’t work out. You are left standing in the space between what you expected and what is actually happening. It can feel like something has gone seriously wrong.
When plans fall apart, the instinct is to panic or force a replacement. The mind wants immediate answers. It wants proof that the detour is not a mistake, but not every disruption is a failure. Sometimes it is a redirection placing you on the path you are meant to be on.
You don’t have to pretend that it doesn’t hurt when life takes a different path, but you also don’t have to fix it immediately. Sometime’s we learn the most about ourselves when we can learn to rest in the middle of what was, and what will be.
The things that are truly meant for you in life will not need to be chased. Love, purpose, your calling; all of it will find you. It aligns over time, often in ways you would not have chosen for yourself. The discomfort you feel now may be creating room for something more fitting, more honest, more sustainable than the plan you had.
Choose one situation in your life that feels unsettled. Instead of trying to solve it today, write one sentence of trust about it. Keep it simple and grounded. Read that sentence once a day this week. Let it anchor you while things unfold. Not every closed door is a loss, some are guidance and necessary redirection.
