8 Red & Green Flags You Should Look Out For When Dating

After meeting someone we think we might be interested in being in a relationship with, dating is usually the next step.

Getting to know someone is probably one of the best parts of meeting new people. We don't know what to expect and the element of surprise makes the dating phase even more exciting.

As we get to know the other person, we also get to know ourselves more. Dating allows us to reevaluate our expectations, preferences, values, and desires. This is probably one of the reasons why dating is essential before two people decide to be in a relationship.

With that in mind, the dating period is also something we need to approach from an objective perspective…

Confused About Your Chronotype? What to Do If You Get a Tie (Plus More Helpful Tips!)

If you’ve taken our chronotype quiz and found yourself with mixed results, don’t worry—you’re not alone!

Many people discover they don’t fit perfectly into just one chronotype category, and there’s a fascinating scientific reason for this.

While researchers have identified four distinct chronotypes, human biology rarely fits into neat boxes. Instead, our natural sleep-wake patterns often exist on a spectrum—with many people showing characteristics of multiple types.

So, let’s dive deeper into the world of chronotypes to help you understand what it means if you got a tie, how to work with mixed characteristics, and some surprising statistics about each type…

One Positive Action

Use the “Five-Second Rule”:

No, not that one, the other five second rule! The five-second rule is simple: when you have an impulse to do something you know is good for you, count down: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and move before your mind talks you out of it. The moment you hesitate, your brain starts working against you. You think about reaching out to someone, speaking up in a meeting, or getting out of bed early, but in a split second, doubt creeps in. Sticking to the rule short-circuits overthinking and pushes you into action before fear or inertia can take over.

It works because hesitation is the enemy of action. The longer you sit with a decision, the more likely you are to second-guess yourself. Your brain starts coming up with reasons to wait, to play it safe, to avoid discomfort. But when you count down and move immediately, you bypass all of that. It’s a tiny shift that can make a huge difference, whether it’s getting up when your alarm goes off, sending that email, or making a tough phone call.

The key is committing to it every time. Don’t wait for motivation, because motivation is unreliable. Just decide. Five seconds is all it takes to turn intention into action. And the more you use it, the more momentum you build. Small actions stack up, and before you know it, you’re making decisions faster, hesitating less, and training yourself to be the kind of person who acts.
