One Positive Action
Escaping Mental Fog
Mental fatigue shows up when your brain has been running without a break. It usually looks like difficulty focusing, slower thinking, or feeling mentally cluttered. The solution is not to push harder but to give your mind a simple reset.
A practical way to reset your mental energy is to reduce the amount of information your brain is processing. Most of the time, your attention is pulled in several directions at once. Creating a short period with fewer inputs helps your brain re-calibrate.
When you temporarily stop feeding your mind extra information, you free up it’s capacity. This can improve your clarity, decision-making, and problem-solving for the rest of the day.
Take five minutes today to remove unnecessary mental input. Turn off notifications, close extra tabs, silence your phone, and step away from anything that requires decisions. Then choose one activity that keeps your hands occupied but your mind free, such as wiping a counter, tidying a small area, or stretching.
Keep the task easy and repetitive. The point is to give your brain a short break from managing information so it can reset. When the five minutes are up, return to your day with a clearer head and renewed focus.
