This Week’s Mental Health Recipe

Peanut Butter, Honey & Cinnamon Toast for Mental Well-Being | Mental Health Recipe

Sometimes, the simplest things can make the biggest difference.

Maybe you’ve dragged yourself out of bed, your brain already buzzing with the day’s to-do list, and the last thing you want to do is whip up some elaborate breakfast. But what if a few minutes and a couple of pantry staples could actually set your mind up for a better day? What if this recipe could even offer a little moment to reset and set intentions for your day ahead?

An easy go-to is this peanut butter, honey, and cinnamon toast! And yes, toast isn’t what you probably think of as “healthy” or maybe even helpful for your mental well-being or mood. But hear me out…

One Positive Action

Let One Thing Be Enough

You might be feeling like I do as 2025 comes to a close. It feels like there’s a subtle pressure to evaluate everything I did and didn’t do. What should I have done differently? It’s time to step out of that mindset, even just for a moment.

This overwhelm isn’t coming from what’s in front, but instead, it’s coming from this running tally in your mind. The constant feeling like whatever you’re doing isn’t enough yet, and the narrative that you always need to do one more thing, one more improvement, one more task before you can finally rest. There is power in choosing a stopping point.

Enough is a decision. It’s you deciding where your energy ends instead of letting the day decide for you. When you let one thing be enough, your nervous system gets a signal that it’s safe to settle. That signal matters more than productivity right now.

Effort without rest turns into depletion, and depletion rarely leads to clarity, patience, or motivation.

Look at today honestly. Notice what you have already done, then choose one area where you will stop adding, fixing, or pushing. You don’t have to earn your pause, just claim it.

Before the day ends, choose one thing and decide it is enough. Enough work, enough cleaning, enough planning, enough thinking. Say it clearly to yourself and stop engaging with it for the rest of the day. Let your body experience what it feels like to finish without guilt.
