Life is Too Short to Worry About These 13 Things
Life is not easy and sometimes, the people that we have to go through life with don't make it any easier.
We're surrounded by so many societal influences and expectations that shape our decisions and choices. Oftentimes, we're torn between what we want to do or what makes us happy and what society expects from us.
From the time we wake up, we're worried about so many things as we try to be the best version of ourselves.
But as I've gotten older, I’ve realized that I am not supposed to be worried about 80% of the things I am worried about. I am constantly learning not to prioritize the comfort of other people at my expense.
And I think we should all put ourselves first and not worry about the following things:
One Positive Action
Learn something new!
“Once you stop learning, you start dying” - Albert Einstein (allegedly.) So, why not keep yourself alive and thriving by diving into something new today?
Today’s the day you stop wondering and start Googling. Look up a quick tutorial or a fun fact about something you’ve been curious about and scratch that itch. Knowledge is just waiting there to be grabbed, it’s almost rude not to take it.
It doesn’t have to be useful. It doesn’t have to be tied to your job, your goals, or whatever “productive” box you think it needs to fit into. Learning something just because is reason enough. Like, did you know octopuses have three hearts? Or that there’s a specific way to fold fitted sheets that doesn’t involve rage-quitting, bunching them up and chucking them in the closet? Your brain gets a little boost just from exploring something new, no life-altering reason required.
Don’t worry about being good at it. This isn’t about mastery; it’s about curiosity. Watch that tutorial, give it a try, and maybe fail spectacularly, it’s still a win because you tried. Plus, it gives you a fun fact to toss into a conversation later. Imagine casually dropping, “Did you know flamingos get their color from the shrimp they eat?” People will either be fascinated or pretend to be polite. Either way, you’re now the person with random knowledge, and that’s never a bad thing.
So, go ahead, open up Youtube, Google, or better yet, Wikipedia, and dive into the rabbit hole. Whether you end up with a new hobby, a fun party fact, or just a laugh at your own attempt, it’s time well spent. And who knows? You might find yourself hooked and looking for the next random thing to learn. (The Wikipedia rabbit hole is real. You’ve been warned! In a good way…)

Today's Affirmation
