One Positive Action

Make a “What I’m Leaving Behind” List

New Year’s Eve has a way of making you look back at the year and think, What am I still carrying around that I just don’t need anymore? So, grab a piece of paper and start writing down the things you’re ready to leave behind. Maybe it’s that habit of playing on your phone before bed, a tendency to over-apologize, or the nagging self-doubt that loves to camp out in your brain rent-free. Get it all out, no filter, no judgment.

When you’ve got your list, decide how you want to let it go. Maybe you tear it up and toss it, or burn it if you’re feeling dramatic (and safe about it). There’s something cathartic about physically removing those words from your space. It’s like telling your brain, Hey, we’re done with this now. You’re not pretending those things didn’t exist, but you’re making a choice to stop letting them hold you back.

When you let go of the stuff that’s been weighing you down, you make room for the things you actually want to carry with you into the new year

So, as the clock ticks down, give yourself permission to leave behind what no longer serves you. You don’t need to have it all figured out, but you do deserve to step into the new year a little lighter, a little freer.

You’ve got space now, what are you going to fill it with?
