Many people may not be able to afford gifts or traveling this year, or weather has gotten in the way of you being able to be with your loved ones. Maybe it's the anniversary of losing someone in your life - or you lost someone earlier this year, or have some bad blood, or went through a break up.

One Positive Action
Set an Intention for the Day
Most mornings, we just dive right into the chaos without stopping to think about how we actually want to show up. Setting an intention isn’t about crafting some lofty mantra, it’s about deciding what kind of energy you want to bring into your day. Maybe it’s focus. Maybe it’s kindness. Maybe it’s just surviving flipping a table(hey, we’ve all been there).
Take a second right now. Close your eyes, or just stare at your coffee mug like it holds the secrets of the universe. What do you want to feel today? What’s one quality that would make this day feel like it mattered, even just a little? Clarity? Patience? Joy? Pick one thing, and let it be your guide.
Your intention doesn’t need to be plastered on your bathroom mirror or whispered like a prayer every hour. Just keep it in the back of your mind as you move through the day. When something throws you off (because it will), you can come back to it and ask yourself, “Am I living in line with that intention?” If the answer is no, you can adjust. If the answer is yes, give yourself a high-five.
It’s not about getting it right every moment. It’s just about having a little compass for your day. Because if you don’t decide what direction you’re heading, life will decide for you, and it’s usually toward stress and doomscrolling. So, pick your thing and give it a shot. It might just change how you show up for yourself and everyone else.
