What is Reiki & Can Energy Healing Help You?
Reiki is a holistic energy treatment modality that is becoming more and more popular in and out of the medical field.
The term “Reiki” is a Japanese word that means “universal life energy”. This healing method was discovered and cultivated in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui, after experiencing a profound spiritual experience.
Since then, smaller branches of Reiki have risen, but the most common system is the Usui System of Natural Healing. Students are trained by a Reiki master through a series of educational sessions and an attunement.

One Positive Action
The Comparison Detox
The initial idea behind social media was to create a space where people could express themselves, their opinions and their personalities freely. Now that social media is so deeply en-rooted in our society, it can feel like a platform where everything is one big competition. Someone's posting about their promotion, perfect vacation, perfect body, or their seemingly flawless life. Suddenly your own world feels a little dimmer, and you're wondering why your Tuesday doesn't look like their highlight reel. Comparison truly is the thief of joy, and social media has turned it into an Olympic sport we never signed up for.
The comparison detox isn't about deleting all your accounts or pretending social media doesn't exist. It's about being intentional with what you consume and recognizing when certain accounts consistently leave you feeling "less than." Maybe it's that influencer whose life seems overly curated and unrealistic, or that friend from high school who only shares their wins. When you find yourself regularly feeling inadequate or envious after seeing someone's content, that's your cue. It's time to unfollow.
When you clear out those comparison triggers, that mentally draining energy you were spending on "Why don't I have that?" or "I should be doing better" suddenly becomes available for enjoying your life. You'll notice you're more present in your own moments instead of measuring them against someone else's. Your wins feel bigger because you're not immediately comparing them to someone else's seemingly bigger wins. Plus, you start appreciating the messy, imperfect, beautifully real parts of your life that don't make it onto social media but make up the bulk of human experience.
Right now, think of three accounts that consistently make you feel inadequate or envious. Then, hit the unfollow button and replace that scrolling time with something that fills up your cup instead of depleting you. Let this be a reminder that you have the power to choose what kind of content you are exposed to. Make an effort to find accounts that uplift you or make you feel a part of an important community. Plus once you redirect that comparison energy toward your own life and growth, you will also feel a deeper sense of happiness.
