I’m An Introvert: How Can I Deal With Stress?
The whole concept of introvert vs. extrovert may be well known among our culture.
It’s common to hear someone proudly declare they are one or the other and even in conflicts, it’s not unheard of to use this as your back up argument – or to shirk your responsibility in the ruckus.
“I’m just an extrovert, I can’t help that I’m outspoken!”
"I wasn't trying to ignore you, introverts just get overwhelmed and shut down."
What we might not see so often though, is how the introverted – the more reserved and inward turning folks – deal with stress. Today we are going to focus on what most commonly happens to introverts to worry and overwhelm them – and how they can identify their own triggers to restore the clarity and calm they so badly need to function properly.

Vibes Don’t Lie: Tuning Into Relationship Energy
Have you ever felt the invisible shift in the air when someone walks into the room? Maybe your shoulders relax because their presence is warm and grounding. Or maybe your stomach tightens, even before a single word is spoken. That’s relationship energy.
The truth is, vibes don’t lie. We pick up on more than we realize - tone of voice, body language, the way someone looks at us when we’re talking, or even the silence between words. Sometimes the energy flows so smoothly it feels like oxygen, effortless and alive. Other times, it’s heavy, draining, or full of static, like a radio station that can’t quite tune in.
Most of us are so busy analyzing what people say that we forget to notice how we feel around them. Yet it’s that unspoken current (the vibe) that often tells the real story.
And when you start tuning in, you’ll see patterns: the spark, the drain, the flow, the blockages. The energy of your relationships can lift you up or quietly eat away at your peace.
This post is all about learning…
One Positive Action
Self-Compassion Pause
In relationships, it feels natural to want to show up for others. You want to be dependable, supportive, and kind. But somewhere along the way, your own needs quietly slip into the background. You catch yourself saying "yes" when you're already stretched thin, or staying quiet when something doesn't feel right. Over time, that pattern leaves you drained and resentful, wondering why you feel so empty despite giving so much.
Here's what I've learned: there's power in the pause. Before responding, agreeing, or giving your energy away, you can take a moment to ask yourself a simple question: What do I need right now? Maybe you need rest. Maybe you need to say no. Maybe you need to ask for help or a little more space. This small shift moves you from autopilot into intentional choice, creating room for both your care and theirs.
When you start honoring your needs, something beautiful happens. You stop running on empty. You show up in relationships with more patience and energy because you're no longer pouring from a depleted cup. You also build self-trust, proving to yourself that your voice is worth hearing and your feelings matter. That foundation makes every relationship healthier, not just for you but for the people you care about.
Today, give yourself a Self-Compassion Pause. The next time someone asks for your time, attention, or energy, take a breath and silently ask: What do I need right now? If your needs align with giving, go for it wholeheartedly. If they don't, allow yourself to set a boundary or ask for something different. Your needs stand right alongside everyone else's.
