Sure, You Care For Others, But How Well Do You Take Care Of Yourself?
Are you taking care of yourself?
Are you sure?
Many people tend to take care of others and neglect taking time to care for themselves on a regular basis. You might think you are doing this, but take some time to really think about it.
When is the last time you took a whole day to yourself?
Did an activity of your choosing?
Sunk into a hot bubble bath?
Hung out in the garage tinkering with something all day long?
Your idea of self-care is important. If you want to avoid burnout or just plain cranky moods, keep your mental, physical, and spiritual aspects in mind each day and take time to invest in yourself.

4-Ingredient Overnight Chia Pudding for a Happier Mind | Mental Health Recipes
Yes, we’ve posted other chia seed recipes. But none come close to how easy and simple this one is. In fact, I’ve literally been making this every day to have for breakfast the following morning (another batch is legit in my fridge right now, getting ready for tomorrow morning!).
With many nutritionists dubbing last year as “the year of fiber,” I’ve probably mentioned that I’ve recently tracked and upped my own fiber intake. The truth is that I wasn’t eating even close to enough, but now I’m meeting my quota every single day. And this recipe plays a huge part in that. Eating this in the morning gets over one-third of the daily recommended fiber intake checked off for the day, making it easy to fill in the rest.
It’s also super satisfying, meaning I’m never hungry until lunchtime after having this for breakfast. So, what’s the secret recipe? Well, there really isn’t one since I’m about to give it all to you in this article, as well as highlight why it’s important for mental health and gut health!

One Positive Action
The Power of the Pause
We as a society have been trained to be people pleasers. If we do not immediately say yes to every ask or request, we are seen as rude or unhelpful. Then you're wondering how you became the person juggling ten commitments you never really wanted. It can be difficult to set boundaries around saying no, but it is important to prioritize the tasks in your day all while protecting your energy.
The 2-minute boundary is giving yourself two full minutes before responding to any request. You are probably programmed into thinking that not immediately responding with the answer the other part is hoping for is rude (but its not!). This action is about creating space between the ask and your answer. During those minutes, you're shifting from reactive mode to intentional mode, letting your brain catch up with the situation and figure out what it wants to do.
It is time to stop over-committing to things that drain you. By taking a moment to think about your answer, you are putting yourself first and prioritizing what works best for you. Plus, when you say yes after that pause, you mean it wholeheartedly and your answer has more value. People will start respecting your thoughtfulness and valuing your time and opinion more because they see you value it yourself.
Starting today, try this with one request. Simply say, "Let me think about that and get back to you." Ask yourself, does this task energize you or feel heavy? Is this something you really need to add to your plate today? Trust what comes up, then respond from that grounded place.
