5 Healthy Green Flags to Look for When You're Dating
We are often advised to look out for the ‘red flags’ in relationships.
Whether it be a romantic, family, or platonic relationship, red flags are the warning signs that let you know something is not quite right with the other person, or with your connection to them.
These negative traits can be evident from the start of the relationship or they can be revealed over a period of time.
Examples of red flags include:
abuse

This Week’s Mental Health Recipe
Wrap Up Your Stress With This Easy Mediterranean Chickpea Wrap | Mental Health Recipes
Okay, so I’ve been a little obsessed with chickpeas lately.
Okay… Like, really obsessed. They’ve been showing up in my meals more than I ever expected, and I’m not mad about it. Once I started paying more attention to gut health and how much fiber I was actually getting in a day, chickpeas became a bit of a staple in my diet.
And here’s the thing: gut health isn’t just about digestion. Your gut and your brain are in constant communication via the gut-brain axis, which means what’s happening in your stomach has a very real effect on your mood, your stress levels, and your mental clarity.
In other words, feed your gut well, and your brain tends to follow!
So when I tell you this wrap is good for your mental health, I genuinely mean it. On top of this, it’s a lunch (or dinner; your choice!) that takes about ten minutes to throw together, requires zero cooking, and is super satisfying. So, how does this one measure up when it comes to boosting your mental health and well-being…
One Positive Action
Don’t Say It All
You don’t need to respond to everything. Not every thought needs to be spoken, and not every moment needs your input.
It is easy to speak quickly, fill silence and explain yourself, correct someone, or add one more point. Most of the time, it happens without much thought. You speak because something comes to mind, not because it needs to be said.
Restraint brings clarity.
When you pause before speaking, you give yourself a moment to decide if your words are necessary. Some thoughts pass, while others remain. The ones that remain are usually clearer and more intentional.
Speaking less allows you to choose your words with care while also allowing space for others. Conversations remain grounded instead of reactive.
Silence can carry meaning, show presence, respect, and control. It can prevent you from saying something you do not need to defend later. Silence can be your power.
Today, pause before you speak in one conversation. Take a moment and ask yourself if what you are about to say needs to be said. If it does, say it clearly and with confidence. If it doesn’t, let it pass. Notice how the conversation changes when you choose your words instead of reacting.
