Why You Should Keep a Nature Awareness Journal for Anxiety
Written by: Krista
Your phone is buzzing. Your inbox has 47 unread emails. You just scrolled past someone’s perfectly curated vacation while sitting at your desk, eating lunch out of a container. And somewhere between the notifications, the ads are trying to convince you that you need something you definitely can’t afford.
Talk about anxiety. Yikes! Just re-reading that, and I can feel the tension building.
Here’s the thing though… The most effective thing you could do for your anxiety isn’t another app (put that phone down!), another supplement, or another morning routine that requires you to wake up at 5 a.m. What if it’s something way simpler and way less glamorous than all of that?

You Need to Add Turmeric to Your Scrambled Eggs | Mental Health Recipes
Written by: Krista
Eggs have been a breakfast staple forever. In fact, they’re one of the most nutrient-dense foods you can eat, despite what rumors in the past have said (we’ll get into all of that a little later).
Add a little turmeric, and you’ve just leveled up your morning eggs into one heck of an inflammatory meal, one that’s both satiating and delicious!
So, here are multiple mental health reasons why you’ll want to add turmeric to your scrambled eggs in the morning and how you can easily do that…
One Positive Action
Say Less Than You Normally Would
It is easy to say more than necessary. You explain your reasoning, soften your words, or add extra context to make sure you are understood. It often happens quickly and without much thought but by the end of a conversation, you may realize you said more than you intended.
The instinct usually comes from a good place; wanting to be clear and understood. Adding more doesn’t always improve the message though, and in many cases, it does the opposite.
When you over-explain, the core point can become diluted. The message loses its point, and the conversation starts to carry more weight than it needs to. You may also find yourself trying to manage how your words are received, which adds unnecessary pressure in the moment.
Saying what needs to be said, and stopping there, allows your words to hold their shape. It creates space for the other person to respond without being guided or filled in. It also reduces the tendency to revisit the conversation later and question what you should have said differently.
In one conversation today, say what needs to be said and stop. Avoid adding extra explanation or justification. Notice how the conversation unfolds when you allow space instead of filling it.
