You Might Be a Multipotentialite: Diverse Passions & Many Creative Pursuits

Have you ever been told to just pick one thing and stick with it?

Maybe you’ve bounced between careers, hobbies, or creative projects your whole life, and somewhere along the way, you started wondering if something was wrong with you. Maybe you’ve even wondered if you’re broken because you can’t seem to settle down and commit to one path. (And as someone who travels full-time, I totally get this!)

Why Self Growth Needs a Little More Patience and Kindness

It is the information age.

The only problem is the information everyone seems to get these days is that every other person is living a 'better' life than they are.

  • They see the news about the kid who made millions posting funny videos on social media

  • A business woman who bought herself a brand-new Lamborghini

  • People traveling all over the world, eating the best food, etc.

It never ceases.

A hyper-optimized flood of information makes us see the extremes of everything. They make everything (including trivial matters) seem like a life or death situation – mounting pressure on us

One Positive Action

A Present Minute

When was the last time you were fully here, not just physically present, but mentally steady? Most days, the mind runs ahead to what is next or circles back to what already happened. Even when nothing is urgent, your attention may drift, leaving you feeling scattered.

There is a cost to living that way. When your focus is divided, the simple moments pass unnoticed, life blurs and tasks take longer. You may feel oddly restless without knowing why. When attention is pulled in too many directions, it weakens.

The good news is that focus can be strengthened. It starts with something small and deliberate.

Set a timer for one minute. Wherever you are, pause and look around and take in your surroundings. Notice color, light, sound, texture, and temperature. Just observe. If your thoughts wander, which they will, guide them back without criticism.

One minute may seem insignificant, but it interrupts the autopilot. Practice it once today. Then repeat it tomorrow to help steady your inner world.
